HA! Yes, I reviewed my last blog entry and have to chuckle as I really was writing it for my own benefit as well. Consistency is a key I'm in search of. Perhaps it's something that happens along one's journey. 

I'm thinking now that my business motto is most appropriate - that my journey will become an adventure yet again as I allow myself to simply fall into the practice of enjoying the simple activity of doodling, which leads to a decent sketch, leading occasionally to a pretty good drawing, and ultimately can finally become an awesome creation worthy of others' appreciation. 

However, we just won't ever see that result we long for in our mind's eye if we don't keep up with the generation of the crude sketches and funky drawings that may never see the light of day much less anyone else's view.

Take this image for example...I've posted it once on instagram. The point here is that I posted something, because it was Inktober that compelled myself among others to keep creating no matter how rough it was. It's like thinking vocally; Sketching out loud as it were.

I’ve been an artist for over 20 years working on many freelance projects. It’s been a thrill to see other people see their commissions come to life or my own visions spring from the screen and take on a life of their own. Now however, times have put a bit of damper on things. It’s not so much the sales, but the ambience behind my spark of inspiration. Perhaps that’s an awkward phrase. I’ve got a case of artist’s block and it hasn’t gone away. It’s only been this last year that I do have other projects gearing up that I’ll enjoy sharing with people, and a few more commissions came out of the woodwork, but I don’t think it’s because of my reaching a point of market saturation or even a 10% commercial shift - there is a word for this level. Can’t think of it right now.

I suppose right now I am going to have to do my best to tread water, get to my boat - and chill until the next wave of inspiration changes my perspective.
